TimesFirst Suppliers Ranking
What is TimesFirst Suppliers Ranking?
The first of its kind within the B2B industry, the TimesFirst Suppliers Ranking System is another powerful tool designed to help our buyers gain further insight into the competitive advantages between suppliers within a specific industry. Utilizing an advanced algorithm for calculating key information, TimesFirst analyzes the amount and frequency of buyer attention shown to a specific supplier. Based upon the level of interest a supplier receives from the international buying community, they are then assigned a ranked position directly related to their trading popularity for that week. The higher their popularity, the more prominently they are displayed within the ranking system. TimesFirst Suppliers Ranking may also be displayed along a time series graph, enabling buyers to gauge a supplier's overall "Industrial Competitive Ability." How to improve your ranking?
In short, better business translates into better ranking. Unlike other ranking systems, the TimesFirst Suppliers Ranking System is a free service for our buyers and sellers and operates independently of advertising fees, instead focusing on the actual popularity of a supplier's company and products.
TimesFirst Suppliers Ranking updates the relative positions of our suppliers once a week, after quantification calculations are made by analyzing key aspects of a seller's company and product information. TimesFirst conducts daily calculations of the buyer activity surrounding key aspects of the supplier's company website and their information on TimesFirst.com. Each time a buyer views a supplier's company information page, contact information, product information, website or their posted selling leads, the seller earns credits towards increasing their rank. All information collected by TimesFirst for this process is kept confidentially as a reference source for determining ranking position and is not shared with any third parties.
To improve ranking position, TimesFirst recommends that a company make their product and information pages more attractive to buyers. This means, in part, updating them to the latest international standards of design and accessibility. The information pages should be written in user friendly English, contact methods should be clearly highlighted and product descriptions precise and professional.
What counts as a page view of key information and how is it calculated?
A page view of key information is any time a buyer visits one of the locations mentioned above that provide a supplier with a credit. Each page view is limited by IP address so that even if one buyer visits the same page multiple times it only counts as one page view. This encourages popularity based upon a broad spectrum of buyers and not just a single trading partner.
The TimesFirst Suppliers Ranking calculation formula for earning credits is as follows:
TR(Traffic Rank)= IP*(SIV+CIV+PIV+SLV)
